The Children's Charities Foundation has distributed brand new winter coats to more than 50,000 children from (30) thirty local charities and community organizations in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area valued at more than $1,600,000.00.
CCF's goal is to distribute 5,000 coats this year!
Charities were selected in advance so that each child receives an appropriate size coat. Money to purchase the coats are raised at the Children's Charities Foundation Gala, and local Truist (BB&T) Branches throughout the Greater Washington Region.
For the past six (6) years we provided coats to the 2,000 reported homeless children in D.C. along with thousands more in Northern Virginia and neighboring Maryland counties. This is the first time that an organization has met this goal, including the District of Columbia Government.
The kid's coat giveaway is in its eleventh year and is one of hundreds of projects the Foundation has funded that offers help to at risk and disadvantage youth.
